Refugee Week 2007 in Exeter
18 – 24 June
Refugee Week is a UK wide celebration of the massive cultural, social and economic contribution refugees make to the UK.
Refugee Week is a time to facilitate positive encounters between refugees and the general public in order to encourage greater understanding and overcome hostility. It is a time to raise awareness of the reality of refugee experiences.
The increasing negative media coverage continues to promote the popular myths around asylum and increase public misconception of the issues. During Refugee Week in Exeter and Devon we will provide opportunities to see things differently, as well as showcase the talent and expertise of local refugees and asylum seekers.
We invite you to join us to make this year’s Refugee Week a memorable one! Most events are FREE unless otherwise stated and NO BOOKING REQUIRED for ALL events – for more info contact RSG.
Exhibitions – look out for displays at Exeter College, Exeter Library, Tiverton Library, Global Centre Exeter, and Devon Schools throughout the week.
Keep your wits about you in Exeter City Centre on Saturday 16th and Thursday 21st June – can you pass the Citizenship Test???
